23 Days In Jail Over, No Relief For Prernaa Arora Yet
Trouble is far from abating for Prernaa Arora. The producer has spent 23 days in jail and it is said that the next hearing will take place on January 3
Things are not looking up for Prernaa Arora. The PadMan producer, who was arrested on December 8, continues to be lodged in Economic Offences Wing. Arora’s lawyer Rizwan Merchant has been trying his level best to get her released but to no avail. It is believed that the court will now hear the matter on January 3.
SpotboyE.com had earlier told you that she broke down the moment she was being taken into custody and hugged her father before being led away by the police. The lady has been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing for alleged involvement in a fraud amounting to crores of rupees. Arora’s cheques issued to several have bounced back-to-back. Besides PadMan, Arora’s production house, KriArj Entertainment, has also has also produced films such as Rustom, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Pari.
For those who have come in late, a bevy of controversies have surrounded the producer for long. It is said that a company named Padma Ispat had accused KriArj Entertainment of a huge monetary fraud. She was also said to be in possession of several passports and PAN cards. In fact, Arora had a huge fallout with Vashu Bhagnani, who seems to have sealed her current fate. Meanwhile, her infamous fight with Kedarnath director Abhishek Kapoor still is fresh in our memory. The two were involved in a tussle over non-payment of dues post which, Ronnie Screwvala took over the project.
That’s not all, Prernaa also had a spat with John Abraham’s JA Entertainment. The production house dragged her to court for cheating, breach of trust, defamation and offenses committed under the IT act. Finally, she had to let go off Batti Gul Meter Chalu as co-producer over financial dispute.
